Two other passengers riding with Adenhart, Henry Nigel Pearson, 25, and the driver, Courtney Frances Stewart, 20, were also pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the minivan was identified by police as Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, of Riverside, Ca. Initial reports of the accident state Gallo's blood alcohol content was "substantially over the legal limit" of .08 and that Gallo was driving on a suspended license resulting from a previous drunk driving conviction.
Tonight's game between the Angels and Oakland Athletics was postponed due to Adenhart's passing. Outside of Los Angeles, the entire baseball community was rattled by this incident. According to MLB.com, several players and coaches around the League with ties to Adenhart were grieving.
