Celebs talk Manny; tweeters talk Dirk

Crazy little thing called sports.
Actually, this is two different classifications of crazy.
Crazy as in "Can this happen anymore?" and then just pure bonkers.

As reported earlier on Breaking Tweets Sports and the Los Angeles Times, Manny Ramirez failed an MLB drug test.

Twitterers tweeted twazily all day, but sports celebs were also shocked:

Blackhawks win in OT, tie series against Canucks 2-2

Coming into tonight's pivotal Game 4 in the Western Conference semifinals, the Blackhawks were looking to gain momentum on their home ice. However, the Canucks continued to press at every opportunity and stymied most of the Blackhawks scoring chances. Goaltender Roberto Luongo made it seem like the 'Hawks were in for a "Luong" night after Darcy Hordichuk put one in the back of the net with 11:28 left in the 2nd period, per NHL.com's Gamecenter.

Martin Havlat's game-tying goal with 2:44 left in the 3rd period, however, sent the Twitterverse into hysterics:

Teen makes death threat against Ovechkin online, laptop seized

Strong body checks are one thing in the conference semifinals of the NHL playoffs, but death threats? That's a ten-minute game misconduct at the least.

Per @WPXI in Pittsburgh, who first broke the story, Pennsylvania police are investigating a death threat made against the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin by a 17-year-old from Chambersburg, Pa. in an online message board late Wednesday night.

Upon learning of the incident, the Pittsburgh Penguin organization immediately alerted authorities who have seized the laptop from the residence associated with the post.

ESPN.com reported that the message read, "I'm killing Ovechkin and I don't care what happens to me."

Ovechkin, who will be provided with extra security by the NHL, looks to build on the 2-1 series lead in Game 4 on Friday in Pittsburgh.

Brett Favre tells Vikings coach he's staying retired

Looks like Favre is staying retired -- for now.

Per Yahoo! Sports, Brett Favre told Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress today that he plans to stay retired. He is expected to announce his reasoning later today.

Favre came out of retirement last year to play for the New York Jets for one year, but was released from his contract with the Jets after the team drafted former USC quarterback Mark Sanchez. The veteran quarterback and future Hall of Famer wanted to play for the Vikings last season, but the negotiations with his former Green Bay Packers wouldn't allow it.

Manny Ramirez suspended for 50 games after testing postive for drugs

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Manny Ramirez is the latest baseball player to test positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

Per the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers are expected to announce later today that Ramirez will be suspended for 50 games beginning with tonight's game in L.A. and not be eligible to play until July 3.

A source told the Times that Ramirez is expected to say the positive test is a result of medication received from a doctor for a personal medical issue.

This morning the Dodgers informed triple-A outfielder Xavier Paul that he will be going to L.A.

Ramirez has had a pretty clean image since arriving in L.A. last year from the Boston Red Sox, but now he joins the ranks of Alex Rodriguez -- the game's highest-paid player who acknowledged in February he used steroids from 2001-2003 -- as another Major League Baseball player involved with the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
