Pete Rose Believes A-Rod Is Still A Hall Of Famer
Pete Rose, Major League Baseball's all-time hits leader, said he believed Alex Rodriguez deserved a second chance, and that he should still be eligible for the Hall of Fame.
Rose, who has been banned from MLB since 1989 for gambling on games while managing the Cincinnati Reds, has often spoke out against steroids harshly. But said different in an interview with the Dan Patrick Show today.
"When you take steroids you have a direct outcome of the game," Rose said. "That's the integrity of the game. And when you can change records when you do something illegal, it's just not right. ... Baseball records are sacred. If you do something illegal to surpass those records, it's just not good."
He later went on to say that steroid use is worse than someone such as himself betting on his own team to win.

Halladay's complete game victory against Yankees draws record attendance
This time last season, the World Series-bound Tampa Bay Rays were in second place with a 22-16 record. And tonight, after a dominating 5-1 victory over the vaunted New York Yankees, the under-the-radar Toronto Blue Jays stand alone atop the AL East by 1.5 games (pending the Red Sox game at Anaheim later tonight) at 23-12.
Per bluejays.mlb.com, the "Doc," Roy Halladay, threw his first complete game of the year to improve to 7-1 on the season. Facing former rotation mate A.J. Burnett, who signed a 5-year-$82.5 million contract with the Yankees this off-season, Halladay surrendered only 1 run on 5 hits while striking out a handful and lowering his ERA to 2.95. Yet again, Halladay's early-season efforts make make him a Cy Young front runner.
Per ESPN.com, the Jays ranked 27th out of 30 in home attendance this season with 20,014. However, Jeff Blair, a general sports columnist for @globeandmail, Canada's national newspaper, Tweeted from the game and confirmed a much-deserved spike in attendance:

MLB fines White Sox pitcher Jenks after he admits deliberately throwing pitch at Kinsler
Chicago White Sox pitcher Bobby Jenks admitted he threw a pitch to intentionally try to hit Texas Ranger Ian Kinsler on Saturday night.
Per the Chicago Tribune, Jenks said he wanted to send the Rangers' bench a message in retaliation of the six Sox players who got pelted with pitches last week. According to ESPNChicago.com, the MLB fined Jenks $750 for purposely throwing the ball at Kinsler.

Within minutes of Clemens' latest non-mea culpa, hundreds of Tweets were flying around, mostly falling in the "we still don't believe" the guy catagory. Clemens reason for speaking now was so he could rebut claims he repeatedly used PED's in a new book, released today.

Roger Clemens speaks about steriods, continues to deny using them
In an interview with ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike morning show, the disgraced former star pitcher continued to dig in his spikes, refusing to admit he took any performance enhancing drugs.
Clemens story is one of tragic comedy; this latest public denial he ever took steroids despite an avalanche of evidence to the contrary provides more fuel for chatter.

Manny Ramirez suspended for 50 games after testing postive for drugs
Per the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers are expected to announce later today that Ramirez will be suspended for 50 games beginning with tonight's game in L.A. and not be eligible to play until July 3.

A source told the Times that Ramirez is expected to say the positive test is a result of medication received from a doctor for a personal medical issue.
This morning the Dodgers informed triple-A outfielder Xavier Paul that he will be going to L.A.
Ramirez has had a pretty clean image since arriving in L.A. last year from the Boston Red Sox, but now he joins the ranks of Alex Rodriguez -- the game's highest-paid player who acknowledged in February he used steroids from 2001-2003 -- as another Major League Baseball player involved with the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
