Because he did not redshirt during his four-year career with the Blue Devils, Paulus has retained one year of collegiate eligibility. "The chance to compete for a starting job is important," said Paulus. "With me only having an opportunity to play for one year, the chance and the opportunity to compete at a high level is important. There is an opportunity to do that at Michigan."
Paulus visited Ann Arbor this past Tuesday, but did not work out for any of the Michigan coaches. "There has been an opportunity given there," said Paulus. "I thought it was a really good visit. It was really helpful to get to be on a campus and meet with Coach Rodriguez and see the system and understand what types of opportunities are out there."
If Paulus does decide to become a Wolverine, he will have to beat out true freshmen Tate Forcier, Junior Nick Sheridan, and Denard Robinson, another incoming freshmen. Sheridan started four games for Michigan last year.
