Favre's former coach contemplating return to NFL

Looks like Brett Favre and Mike Holmgren operate along the same frequency. On the heels of Favre's possible return to the NFL, former Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren is getting the urge to return to football per ESPN.com.

"I would never say never," said Holmgren, on KJR radio in Seattle when asked about a potential return to the Seahawks. "That would be a nice thing if I could come back in some capacity and work for the club."

"Take a look at who just popped into the Q13 Fox studio. That's former Seahawks Coach Mike Holmgren with his wife Kathy. They were here to talk about their ongoing work in Africa."

Following a disappointing season in which the Seahawks finished 4-12, and the team unceremoniously announced that 2008 would be his last season, Holmgren agreed to take a year off.

Holmgren coached the Green Bay Packers from 1992 - 1998 when Favre was on the team.

Across the country, fans are twittering their response to this recent development from Seattle.

MLB fines White Sox pitcher Jenks after he admits deliberately throwing pitch at Kinsler

Chicago White Sox pitcher Bobby Jenks admitted he threw a pitch to intentionally try to hit Texas Ranger Ian Kinsler on Saturday night.

Per the Chicago Tribune, Jenks said he wanted to send the Rangers' bench a message in retaliation of the six Sox players who got pelted with pitches last week. According to ESPNChicago.com, the MLB fined Jenks $750 for purposely throwing the ball at Kinsler.

"Basically I was saying, 'I'm sick of seeing our guys get hit and hurt and almost get taken out of the game.' I threw it with intention," Jenks told the Tribune.

Rangers pitcher Kevin Millwood hit Chris Getz and Carlos Quentin in Saturday's 3-2 Sox victory. Chicago and Texas finished their series Sunday without any more pitchers hitting anyone with a pitch after umpires issued both teams a pre-game warning.

Today's Roger Clemens interview has proved to be a showcase for the instant conversational power of Twitter.

Within minutes of Clemens' latest non-mea culpa, hundreds of Tweets were flying around, mostly falling in the "we still don't believe" the guy catagory. Clemens reason for speaking now was so he could rebut claims he repeatedly used PED's in a new book, released today.

What we found interesting here at BT Sports is the unfettered, unfiltered reaction from the mainstream media. More and more reporters and writers from conventional media are Twittering. The Clemens interview provides the perfect muse for which they can use this new medium-- instant reaction to a breaking news story. Unlike a blog or a online story, Twitter provides interactivity, an active, online army of sports fans whom they can speak with and engage in real conversation. In real time. Roger Clemens speaks about steriods, continues to deny using them

In a forced media sabbatical, brought on by a hurricane of evidence related to steroid use, Roger Clemens emerged from hibernation this morning.

In an interview with ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike morning show, the disgraced former star pitcher continued to dig in his spikes, refusing to admit he took any performance enhancing drugs.

Clemens story is one of tragic comedy; this latest public denial he ever took steroids despite an avalanche of evidence to the contrary provides more fuel for chatter.

Blackhawks defeat Canucks to clinch series, advance to Western Conference Finals

The Blackhawks and Canucks made Game 6 more of a ping pong match than a hockey game, but despite losing their early lead, Chicago had an answer for every one of Vancouver's goals to seal the series for the 'Hawks.

Per the Chicago Tribune, Chicago defeated Vancouver in Game 6 at Chicago's United Center 7-5 to make it to the final four in the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time since 1995.

After trailing in the series and in this game, the Blackhawks came from behind again after giving up a 3-1 lead. The Canucks were up 4-3 early in the third period and were ahead with 3:43 left off a Mats Sundin goal.

But Vancouver couldn't hold off the Hawks. Patrick Kane scored the game-winning shot on a hat trick with 3:34 left in the game, making it his third hat trick of the night.

The Blackhawks will go to the Western Conference Finals to face either the Anaheim Ducks or the Detriot Red Wings.
